Introducing our advanced 3-layer wall soundproofing system, designed to deliver superior noise reduction and acoustic performance in any environment. This innovative system incorporates a BAB (Barrier Absorber Barrier) configuration, featuring SoundBlanket® Mass Loaded Vinyl as the primary barrier material, complemented by a GI grid system for the sound absorber layer, such as BassBloc or mineral wool. The final layer may consist of gypsum, wooden board, or acoustic panels, providing additional sound absorption and aesthetic appeal.
What sets this system apart is its ease of installation, making it ideal for both professionals and DIY enthusiasts. Classic carpenters can easily install the system using basic tools like nails, adhesive, and a drilling machine, minimising installation time and labor costs.
Furthermore, our soundproofing system meets stringent ASTM E-90 standards, achieving an impressive Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 50 dB. This ensures effective noise reduction and enhanced acoustic comfort in various settings, from residential spaces to commercial establishments.
The Barrier Over Barrier installation method for SoundBlanket® Mass Loaded Vinyl Noise Barrier involves directly placing the MLV over a base surface, including gypsum board, cement board, wooden panel, brick wall, RCC (Reinforced Cement Concrete), or tiles. This streamlined configuration is designed to efficiently reduce noise levels, particularly for mid and high-frequency sounds.
Subsequently, the chosen outer covering, such as gypsum board or tiles, is installed directly over the MLV, providing a concealed and space-saving solution. Seamlessness and tightness of fit are ensured for optimal soundproofing performance. Finally, any gaps or joints are sealed to prevent sound leakage, completing the installation process. This method is estimated to achieve a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 42 dB, complying with ASTM E-90 standards, with the outer covering being a minimum of 18mm thick and the SoundBlanket® Mass Loaded Vinyl being 4mm thick.
The SoundBlanket® ceiling Barrier over Barrier configuration provides superior sound isolation for any space. Installed directly on the concrete lintel ceiling or existing ceiling using screws and Synthetic Rubber Adhesives, the SoundBlanket® ensures a secure and effective soundproofing layer. This setup is further concealed with 12mm plywood, gypsum boards, or MDF boards. For a polished look, the final finish can be customized to match your interior design and can be painted for a seamless integration into your decor.
This method is estimated to achieve a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 32 dB, complying with ASTM E-90 standards, with the outer covering being a minimum of 18mm thick and the SoundBlanket® Mass Loaded Vinyl being 2.5mm thick.
