We went with the full 3-layer system on all four walls. 4mm SoundBlanket MLV, 40mm BassBloc and Mirage panels installed using channels. Zero sound escapes the room now. The bass stays completely inside the theatre. All products are ASTM tested.
MMT recommended the 3-layer soundproofing with 4mm MLV, 40mm BassBloc and Mirage grooved felt on top, all mounted using channels on the walls. The isolation is unreal. We tested it with full surround at reference volume and the adjacent bedroom heard nothing.
The system works great. 3-layer on all walls using channels, 4mm MLV, 40mm BassBloc, Mirage finish panels. Bass containment is exactly what we needed. Would have liked slightly faster delivery but the result is worth it. All products are tested and certified.
Did the acoustic carpet tiles on the floor and added Fluted Acoustic Panels on the rear wall combined with Echsorbix felt panels on the side walls. The combination absorbs perfectly across frequencies and the wood looks so premium. Feels like a professional cinema.
I connected with their CEO Sonit Jain during the planning stage. He guided the entire design. We went with Wooden Diffusers on the front wall paired with Galaxy Acoustic Foam on the sides. The diffusion and absorption balance is exactly right for our 18x12 room.
Full 3-layer install on shared walls with the living room. 4mm MLV, 40mm BassBloc, Mirage panels, all on channels. We also laid acoustic carpets on the floor. The combination of carpet and wall treatment makes the room completely dead to the outside world.

Frequently Asked Questions
A home theatre needs both soundproofing (to contain bass and volume) and acoustic treatment (to control echo and reflections). Soundproofing uses MLV + BassBloc on walls. Acoustic treatment uses foam panels on walls, fabric panels on ceiling, and carpet on the floor. Both together give cinema-quality results.
Bass travels through walls as vibration. You need a mass barrier (SoundBlanket MLV 4mm) plus a bass absorber (BassBloc 20mm or 40mm) on all shared walls. BassBloc alone handles bass up to NRC 0.85–1.00. Cover with felt or foam panels as finish layer.
For a home theatre, treat 60–80% of side walls and rear wall with absorptive panels. The ceiling should be 100% treated. Front wall behind the screen can use diffusers. This gives a controlled RT60 (reverberation time) ideal for cinema audio.
Acoustic foam (Galaxy, Turbo, Pyramid) has higher NRC (0.90+) and is better for absorbing mid and high frequencies. Felt panels (Echsorbix, Mirage) are thinner (9mm), look more premium and absorb mid-range frequencies (NRC 0.30). For best results use foam on side walls and felt as a design accent on the rear wall.
Yes. MLV and BassBloc can be mounted on existing walls with SR Adhesive or mechanical fasteners, then finished with acoustic panels on top. Soundproof curtains handle window noise. EPDM door tape and door seal handle gaps. Full 3-layer treatment is possible without breaking walls.
