From Understanding
the Product to Owning Its Production
MMTPL's manufacturing journey did not begin at a factory gate. It began with understanding the product itself — how it performs, what makes it fail, and what the customer actually needs from it. The early years were spent in trading and distribution, learning the market from the ground up, studying what separated a good product from a reliable one, and building the technical knowledge that would eventually make in-house manufacturing possible.
After several years of trading and working closely with manufacturers, the decision to start manufacturing in-house was a practical one. It was the only way to guarantee consistent quality, control production volumes, and take real ownership of the product's long-term performance. In 1968, that decision was acted upon — a small manufacturing setup was established in Agra, and the company began producing its first products.
That small setup in Agra was the beginning of everything. Not a grand launch — just a clear-headed decision to go deeper, take more responsibility, and build something that could last.
Over $6 Million US Dollars — deployed into land, plant, machinery, tooling, raw material supply chains, and laboratory equipment over 55+ years. Not raised in one go, but built incrementally from operational profits and reinvested revenue, year after year.
Each investment was made when the business was ready for it — when a new machine made the product measurably better, when acquiring land enabled the next level of capacity, when importing a raw material was the only route to the quality standard required.
The investment continues today, with active plans to expand capacity, add new product lines, and strengthen the supply chain further.
Building an Industry in an
Unwelcoming Market
When MMTPL began expanding its acoustic product range, the Indian acoustic market was not an easy place to operate. Awareness was low, demand was fragmented, and the infrastructure to support serious acoustic manufacturing did not yet exist in the way it does today.
To grow sales and marketing while maintaining quality, MMTPL took a deliberate approach — identifying and partnering with likeminded manufacturers across North India who could produce specific product categories under contract. These were not casual arrangements. Each partnership was built on shared quality standards, structured QC audits at every stage — before production, during production, and after — and clear expectations on both sides.
This model required significant investment and, in some cases, direct acquisition of production capacity. But it allowed MMTPL to scale its product offering without sacrificing quality control, while freeing the internal team to focus on what mattered most at that stage: building the market, educating customers, and establishing MMT Acoustix as a credible name in an industry that was still finding its feet in India.

Every contract production unit was subject to quality audits before, during, and after production. Specifications, tolerances, and testing requirements were non-negotiable across the entire network.
By securing production through trusted partners, the internal team could concentrate on developing the market — building distribution, educating specifiers, and growing the brand across a category that needed significant awareness investment.

Each product line below represents years of formulation science, material sourcing, machine investment, and production refinement. None of these arrived overnight. Each one was earned through iteration, investment, and an unwillingness to settle for anything less than technical excellence.
Our oldest and most refined category. Formulated using precision-graded open-cell polyurethane, our foams are produced on a Continuous Foaming Machine — a capital-intensive investment that delivers consistent density, pore structure, and NRC performance across every single batch. Profiles are cut on CNC machines to tolerances of ±1mm. Variants include Galaxy, Curve, Alien, Turbo, Boxer, Pyramid, Pulsar, and more — each engineered for a specific acoustic purpose.
SoundBlanket® MLV is one of India's most technically demanding acoustic products to manufacture — requiring precise control of polymer compounds, mineral loading, and extrusion parameters. Our Extrusion Line was specifically sourced and installed to produce MLV membranes that meet ASTM E90 STC standards. Raw polymer compounds are imported to ensure batch-to-batch consistency. Available in 2.5mm and 7mm variants — each tested for transmission loss performance at third-party labs.
Our ColorMute, HexaFelt, Mirage Grooved, and FeltPin panels are produced from recycled PET fibre — an investment in both acoustics and sustainability. The felt is thermally bonded, not chemically — making it safer, more durable, and more colour-stable. CNC-routed shapes, precision thermoforming, and a library of 50+ colours mean every panel balances technical performance with aesthetic ambition. Tested for Class A fire ratings and independently verified NRC values.
The SoundaXe® collection represents MMTPL's most recent major capital investment — a high-precision Wooden CNC Router imported specifically to manufacture acoustic diffusers, timber fluted panels, slat walls, and decorative screens that meet both acoustic and interior design specifications. Each piece is CNC-machined from premium-grade engineered wood and solid timber, finished to architectural tolerances. This category bridges acoustics and luxury design — a deliberate strategic move into the high-value contract interiors market.
Manufactured on industrial Juki sewing machines with multi-layer fabric constructions that combine mass-loading, acoustic absorption, and blackout properties in a single product. Our curtains are engineered — not merely decorated — with mass-loaded inner linings, acoustic batting, and precision-hemmed edges. They are independently tested for sound reduction and thermal performance. Available in custom dimensions for residential, hospitality, and commercial projects worldwide.
Our self-invested, fully-owned manufacturing infrastructure means we are able to offer white-label, custom-specification, and OEM acoustic products to architects, interior fit-out companies, cinema chains, hospitality groups, and government bodies. From bespoke foam densities and custom panel sizes to branded packaging and proprietary colourways — we manufacture to your specification, at scale, with full quality documentation. Specifically configured for mass-loaded vinyl production using imported polymer compounds. The line controls melt temperature, line speed, and mineral dispersion simultaneously — delivering STC-rated membranes with consistent density across every metre.
Multi-axis CNC machining for architectural wooden panels and precision foam profiling. These machines allow us to manufacture to drawing specifications — servicing the most demanding interior architects, cinema designers, and government project contractors.
MMTPL was one of the very few Indian acoustic manufacturers to build its research lab before launching its consumer brand. The lab tests NRC, STC, fire rating, and density — giving us data to stand behind before we ask any customer to trust our products.

A delivery date is a commitment. A specification is a contract. MMTPL's supply relationships with automotive OEMs and global brands were built entirely on its word being its bond — long before there were formal service level agreements or penalty clauses.
Substandard batches have been rejected rather than shipped. That standard has been maintained consistently — quality is treated as a baseline requirement, not a differentiator.
Investments have routinely been made with a 5–10 year horizon in mind — land acquired before it was needed, machinery installed ahead of demand, capabilities built before the market fully existed. That long-term view is why the business is where it is today.
