Before & After Retail Treatment
A treated store keeps shoppers browsing longer, lets staff hear customers properly, and turns a noisy space into one people want to spend time in.
| What Changes | Before Treatment | After Treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Shopper dwell time | Customers leave faster, sometimes without browsing. | Longer visits. 1% dwell = 1.3% sales. |
| Sales impact | Noise clutter linked to up to 28% lower sales. | 5 to 10% revenue lift from optimised acoustics. |
| Staff communication | Repeating themselves, mishearing orders at the till. | Clear at normal volume. Fewer errors. |
| Atrium reverb | Every sound amplified and held in the void. | Controlled. Baffles absorb on both faces. |
| Food court comfort | Too loud for a conversation over a meal. | Diners talk normally. Longer table times. |
| Unit-to-unit bleed | Neighbouring brand music overriding yours. | Isolated. Your atmosphere stays yours. |

Real Retail. Real Results.
Our atrium was a wall of noise at weekends. Ceiling Baffles across the void brought reverb right down. Tenant complaints stopped and footfall dwell time went up in our next quarter report.
Phoenix Marketcity, Mumbai
★★★★★
Music from the unit next door was bleeding into our flagship and killing the brand atmosphere. MLV 4mm and BassBloc on the party wall stopped it completely.
Lifestyle International, Bengaluru
★★★★★
Timber Slats across the showroom read as premium interior design, not acoustic treatment. Customers comment on them and our staff can finally hear questions properly.
Royal Enfield Flagship, Chennai
★★★★★
Food court was too loud for anyone to hold a conversation. Baffles plus Acoustic Paintings on the walls transformed it. Tenants report longer average table times.
DLF Mall of India, Noida
★★★★★
Ceiling Clouds directly over the checkout counters cut mishearing at the till noticeably. Small change, real operational difference during peak hours.
Reliance Trends, Hyderabad

Class A fire certification to ASTM E-84 was mandatory for our mall fit-out approval. MMT supplied the full documentation pack upfront which saved our contractor weeks.
Select Citywalk, New Delhi

Carpet Tiles and Fabric Panels across two floors. Being able to replace a single tile rather than a whole floor section suits our maintenance model well.
Pacific Mall, Gurugram

Retail Acoustics — Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, and the numbers are significant. Poor retail soundscapes can reduce sales by up to 28 percent. On the flip side, optimising the acoustic environment can lift revenue by 5 to 10 percent. Sales correlate directly with dwell time, and even a 1 percent increase in dwell time is associated with a 1.3 percent rise in sales.
The finishes. Glass, marble, ceramic tile and polished concrete are chosen for durability and appearance, and all of them reflect almost all the sound that hits them. Add high atrium volumes and heavy footfall and levels escalate quickly. Absorption has to be added deliberately because the base build provides almost none.
The ceiling. It is the largest uninterrupted hard surface and treating it does not compete with merchandising space on the walls. Ceiling Baffles suit high atriums since they absorb on both faces. Ceiling Clouds work above checkouts and seating. Wall panels and slats come next, then floor.
Not if you specify for finish. Timber Acoustic Slats read as an intentional design feature. Fabric Panels come in 20+ colours and can be matched to brand palette. Acoustic Paintings can carry custom artwork. Most customers never register them as acoustic products.
Absorption inside your unit will not stop transmission through a party wall. Use SoundBlanket MLV 4mm on the shared wall, then BassBloc 20mm, then a finish panel. This matters most where a music-led brand sits beside a quieter one.
Yes. MMT Acoustix manufactures in New Delhi and has delivered showroom, mall, atrium and food court projects across India and the Middle East. All products carry ASTM C-423, ASTM E-84 and EN ISO certification, which mall fit-out approvals normally require.
