Hanging Ceiling PET Clouds
on Echsorbix® Felt

An Acoustic Ceiling Cloud is a horizontal panel of Echsorbix® PET acoustic felt suspended below the ceiling on aircraft cable and clips. The flat face absorbs sound rising from the room; the air gap above the cloud lets it absorb a wider frequency range than a flat ceiling tile pressed against the soffit. PET Ceiling Clouds are supplied in four thicknesses — 9 mm, 12 mm, 18 mm and 24 mm — so the absorption profile matches the room.

Same Echsorbix® PET acoustic felt across all four thicknesses — pick the depth to match the absorption target. Deeper clouds absorb a wider frequency range, particularly into the lower-mid band where speech and HVAC noise live.

Lower reverberation supports focus, comprehension and speech clarity in learning spaces.
Clearer speech
Healthcare & Clinics
Calmer waiting and consultation rooms with PET Ceiling Clouds suspended above seating zones.
Calm interiors
Hospitality Lobbies
Tame echo in tall, hard-surfaced reception and atrium spaces while adding a designed ceiling.
Tall spaces
Retail & Showrooms

Suspending Acoustic
Ceiling Clouds

Clouds suspend directly from the soffit on aircraft cable — no grid, no sub-frame, minimal disruption to a working USA interior.

Method 01
Wire & Clip Suspension
1
Set out cloud positions
Mark cloud centres across the ceiling — single feature, grid or cluster.
2
Anchor & clip
Anchor aircraft cable to the soffit and fit cloud clips at the chosen drop height.
3
Hang & level
Clip clouds face-down onto the cables, level and adjust drop.
Method 02
Custom Shape & Service Integration
1
Cut to project
PET clouds CNC-cut to your shape — square, rectangular, hexagonal or free-form.
2
Plan around services
Position clouds so lights and AC sit between them — concealed yet accessible.
3
Reconfigure
Lightweight clouds unclip and relocate as the space changes.

FAQs

Acoustic Ceiling Clouds
in USA — Questions Answered

What is an Acoustic Ceiling Cloud?+
An Acoustic Ceiling Cloud is a horizontal panel of Echsorbix® PET acoustic felt suspended below the ceiling on aircraft cable and clips. The flat face absorbs sound rising from the room, and the air gap above the cloud lets it absorb a wider frequency range than a flat ceiling tile pressed against the soffit. MMT supplies PET Ceiling Clouds in four thicknesses — 9 mm, 12 mm, 18 mm and 24 mm.
What's the difference between Acoustic Ceiling Clouds and Acoustic Baffles?+
Both are suspended PET felt absorbers, but the orientation differs. Acoustic Ceiling Clouds hang horizontally, presenting a flat face down to the room — ideal for open-plan offices, restaurants and lobbies where the ceiling is the place to add absorption. Acoustic Baffles hang vertically (edge-on), absorbing on both faces — best for tall halls, atria and auditoria where reverberation needs to be tamed across a deep volume.
Why are 9 mm, 12 mm, 18 mm and 24 mm thicknesses offered?+
Deeper PET felt absorbs a wider frequency range, particularly into the low-mid band where speech and HVAC noise sit. 9 mm and 12 mm clouds handle mid and high frequencies for offices and light-traffic rooms. 18 mm gives improved low-mid absorption for restaurants and open-plan floors. 24 mm gives the deepest broadband absorption for auditoria, music spaces and lecture halls.
How are Acoustic Ceiling Clouds installed?+
Clouds suspend directly from the soffit on aircraft cable and clips — no grid or sub-frame needed. Set out cloud positions, anchor the cable, fit clips and hang each cloud at the chosen drop height. Custom shapes are CNC-cut, and the array is planned around lighting and AC services so they sit between clouds, concealed yet accessible.
