Every SoundaXe® panel pattern is CNC-machined from the same premium base material — the design you choose defines the visual character of the space. From uniform perforations to diagonal slashes, wave cuts, and staggered dot matrices. All 16 patterns are available for walls and ceilings.
3-Layer Panel Architecture
Every SoundaXe® panel consists of three engineered layers — base substrate, finish laminate, and acoustic fleece backing. This construction delivers structural rigidity, visual richness, and the sound-absorbing performance required for NRC >0.65 certification.
H-Rail Clip System — Tool-Free Panel Exchange
SoundaXe® grooved panels install via a concealed H-Rail and Rotary Clip system — no visible fixings, no adhesive on the face. Panels can be removed and re-installed for maintenance or design updates. Full installation accessories supplied with every Chicago order.
Mark panel layout on wall or ceiling, accounting for M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) positions, light fittings, and HVAC outlets. Fix wooden battens at ≤600mm centres perpendicular to panel direction. Install acoustic substrate (BassBloc® or foam) between battens before proceeding.
Screw H-Rail (A01) onto wooden battens at regular intervals. The H-Rail provides the structural track into which rotary clips engage. Ensure rails are level using a spirit level — misaligned rails will cause panel waviness across large surfaces.
Insert Rotary Clips A02 (front clip) and A03 (rear clip) into the H-Rail. These clips grip the tongue-and-groove edge of each SoundaXe® panel, holding it securely without face fixings. Space clips according to panel weight and length.
Slot SoundaXe® panels into rotary clips from top to bottom and left to right. The tongue-and-groove joint system aligns adjacent panels seamlessly. For wood laminate finishes, match grain direction between panels for a continuous visual flow. Clean with compressed air and dry cloth to finish.
