Mark Placement & Install Wooden Battens

Mark panel layout on wall or ceiling, accounting for M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) positions, light fittings, and HVAC outlets. Fix wooden battens at ≤600mm centres perpendicular to panel direction. Install acoustic substrate (BassBloc® or foam) between battens before proceeding.

Fix H-Rail A01 onto Wooden Battens

Screw H-Rail (A01) onto wooden battens at regular intervals. The H-Rail provides the structural track into which rotary clips engage. Ensure rails are level using a spirit level, misaligned rails will cause panel waviness across large surfaces.

Fix Rotary Clips A02 and A03

Insert Rotary Clips A02 (front clip) and A03 (rear clip) into the H-Rail. These clips grip the tongue-and-groove edge of each SoundaXe® panel, holding it securely without face fixings. Space clips according to panel weight and length.

Slot Panels, Top to Bottom, Left to Right

Slot SoundaXe® panels into rotary clips from top to bottom and left to right. The tongue-and-groove joint system aligns adjacent panels seamlessly. For wood laminate finishes, match grain direction between panels for a continuous visual flow. Clean with compressed air and dry cloth to finish.

Grooved slats (Groove M series) have linear CNC-cut grooves running the length of the panel, sound passes through the grooves into the acoustic fleece and substrate behind. They are typically used as wall cladding in long planks (2440mm length). Perforated panels have a grid of holes cut through the panel face, available in large sheets (2440×1220mm) or ceiling tiles (595×595mm). Both deliver NRC >0.65. Grooved slats offer a linear, architectural wood appearance. Perforated panels offer a more uniform, subtle acoustic ceiling appearance.
Which base material should I choose for my Coimbatore project, MDF, HDF, or HDHMR?+
For standard interior applications in Coimbatore (offices, homes, hotels): E1 MDF is the most cost-effective and widely specified base. For high-humidity areas (bathrooms, spa areas, basement spaces in Coimbatore): HDHMR (High Density High Moisture Resistant) is recommended, it is significantly more resistant to Coimbatore's monsoon humidity. For suspended or floating ceiling systems, custom aluminium carrier channels can be engineered. Weight of 15mm panels is approximately 11–13 kg/m², suitable for standard suspended ceiling structures without additional reinforcement in most cases. Are custom patterns and dimensions available?+
Yes. MMT Acoustix operates 2 MultiCam 7000 Series CNC routers capable of machining any DXF or vector-format design file.
