WDWL® Mirage — Grooving Patterns

One Panel, Eight Surface Languages

Every space demands a surface treatment that complements its architecture while preserving acoustic performance. Each Mirage groove pattern is CNC routed into the WDWL® panel face — 600 × 1200 mm format — without compromising the Class A absorption rating of the underlying assembly.

WDWL Mirage Solid wood wool panel Nigeria
Solid

Flat, unrouted WDWL® face. The cleanest expression of cement bonded wood wool — preferred for restrained, minimalist Nigeria interiors.

WDWL Mirage Check pattern Nigeria
Check

Grid routed cells across the panel face. A precise, architectural rhythm — frequently specified for central business district corporate fit outs.

WDWL Mirage Quilted pattern Nigeria
Quilted

Diamond cross routed pattern. Adds tactile depth without visual weight — used widely in Nigeria's hospitality and F&B interiors.

WDWL Mirage Lines pattern Nigeria
Lines

Vertical channels routed along the 1200 mm length. Reads as elongation — preferred for tall ceilings and lobby walls.

WDWL Mirage Stripes pattern Nigeria
Stripes

Horizontal banded grooves. A graphic, mid weight pattern often paired with restaurants and creative co working interiors.

WDWL Mirage Arch pattern Nigeria
Arch

Concentric arched routes. A softer architectural reference now appearing across boutique hotels and wellness spaces in Nigeria.

WDWL Mirage Diagonal pattern Nigeria
Diagonal

45 degree routed lines. Movement and direction — used to anchor focal walls in showrooms, retail, and feature lobbies.

WDWL Mirage Curve pattern Nigeria
Curve

Concentric curved routes. The most sculptural Mirage pattern — frequently called for in auditoriums and premium villa interiors.

Colour Options

16 Shades, 4 Design Families

Sixteen factory dyed wood wool finishes organised into four design families. Each shade penetrates the wood fibres before cement bonding, meaning the colour is integral to the panel — not a surface coating. Every family is matched to a different Nigeria interior palette, from corporate restraint to hospitality warmth.

Wall Installation
Direct Screw Fix to Wall
1
Mark & Align

Measure the wall layout, mark panel positions with a chalk line, and align panel edges flush with adjacent panels or architectural elements.

2
Fix with Screws

Install panels using stainless steel screws at all four corners and one centre point. Pre drilling is optional for the 25 mm and 35 mm thicknesses.

3
Paint Screw Heads

Touch up exposed screw heads with matching panel colour from the 16 shade palette for a seamless, monolithic surface finish.

WDWL wood wool ceiling installation Nigeria T-grid
Ceiling Installation
T-Grid Suspended Ceiling
1
Install T-Grid Framework

Fix the T-grid suspension system to the soffit at 600 × 600 mm or 1200 × 600 mm spacing, depending on the panel module specified.

2
Place the Panels

Carefully drop each WDWL® panel into the grid slots from below. Panels rest on the T-grid flange — no fasteners required for standard ceiling work.

3
Secure with Adhesive (Optional)

For Nigeria's HVAC heavy ceiling zones, apply acoustic adhesive on panel edges for added stability and to prevent vibration rattle over time.

FAQs

WDWL® Wood Wool Panels in Nigeria — Common Questions

Can I buy WDWL® Wood Wool acoustic panels in Nigeria from MMT Acoustix?+
Yes. MMT Acoustix manufactures and ships WDWL® cement bonded wood wool acoustic panels directly to Nigeria. Sample shipments and small orders travel via air freight in 5 to 7 days. Larger hotel, developer, and commercial project orders ship by FCL or LCL sea freight to destination port in 12 to 18 days. Our export team supports Nigeria consultants and contractors with free BOQ preparation, physical samples in all 16 colours, and full EN certification documentation.
What absorption performance can I expect from WDWL® panels in Nigeria?+
Performance depends on the build up. Direct fix 15 mm panels deliver Aw 0.30 (Class D). Adding a 50 mm mineral wool backing brings the assembly to Aw 1.00 (Class A) — the configuration most Nigeria acoustic consultants specify for auditoriums, schools, and corporate interiors. Suspended ceiling configurations with a 70 mm to 135 mm air gap and mineral wool infill also achieve Aw 1.00. The full table of seven certified configurations is shown above, and complete reverberation chamber test reports per EN ISO 354 are available for project submission to Nigeria consultants.
Are WDWL® panels fire rated for Federal Fire Service Nigeria and Building Code requirements?+
Yes. WDWL® panels are certified B-s1, d0 under EN 13501-1:2007, the highest practical fire reaction class for organic acoustic surfaces. B indicates limited combustibility, s1 indicates very low smoke production, and d0 indicates no flaming droplets. This rating is accepted by Federal Fire Service Nigeria for use in hotels, schools, hospitals, auditoriums, and high occupancy public spaces across Nigeria. We provide the full test certificate with every Nigeria project consignment.
Can WDWL® panels be installed on walls, ceilings, and floors in the same project?+
Yes. WDWL® cement bonded wood wool is one of the few acoustic surfaces certified for all three planes. Walls install with stainless steel screws at corners and centre. Ceilings install on a standard T-grid suspended system or with direct screw fix to soffit. Floor underlay applications use the 25 mm or 35 mm panel beneath a finished floor system. Specifying one panel family across all three planes simplifies your Nigeria BOQ and gives a continuous visual language across the project.
How are WDWL® panels customised with grooves, colours, and sizes for my Nigeria project?+
Every WDWL® consignment is custom prepared. Choose one of eight Mirage groove patterns (Solid, Check, Quilted, Lines, Stripes, Arch, Diagonal, Curve) and one of sixteen factory dyed colours across the four design families. Specify standard 1200 × 600 mm modules or custom cut dimensions per your Nigeria drawings. CNC routing, edge profiling, and colour dyeing all happen at our New Delhi facility before dispatch — meaning panels arrive on your Nigeria site ready to install with no additional finishing work required.
Are WDWL® panels durable in Nigeria's tropical humid conditions?+
Yes. The cement bonding gives WDWL® panels excellent dimensional stability across tropical humid conditions, and the anti microbial cement matrix prevents mould or fungal growth in air conditioned interiors. Chloride content stays below 0.06% (Class Cl3 per EN 13168), meaning panels are safe for use adjacent to structural steel without corrosion risk. Bend strength of 1700 kPa and compression resistance of 300 kPa mean panels survive impact, handling, and decades of service. Reference projects across our export markets have been in continuous service for over 15 years.
What backing should I specify with WDWL® for maximum absorption in my Nigeria project?+
For Class A absorption, the standard specification is WDWL® 25 mm face panel + 50 mm mineral wool backing, either direct fix or with an air gap of 70 mm or more. This combination achieves Aw 1.00 across the 250 Hz to 4000 Hz band. For low frequency control (large halls, cinemas, auditoriums) we recommend pushing the air gap to 85 mm or more, which lifts 125 Hz absorption from 0.30 to 0.55. Our acoustic team supports Nigeria consultants with full configuration recommendations before order placement, free of cost.
