Pyramid Acoustic Foam 2”, 1x1 Ft, Charcoal Black + Stone White

I installed the Pyramid Acoustic Foam 2", 1x1 Ft, Charcoal Black + Stone White in my vocal booth, mainly for spoken voice and singing. Before treatment the room had a noticeable amount of slap echo and a bright, reflective character that was getting into recordings and making long listening sessions tiring. I was not trying to stop traffic or neighbour noise through the wall, so I specifically chose an absorption product rather than expecting foam to behave like a soundproofing barrier. After treating the main reflection area, the room sounded more controlled and spoken voice had less obvious room tone. The difference was not that the room became silent; it simply became easier to record and listen in. The Pyramid surface gives the wall some visual texture, while the Charcoal Black + Stone White finish suited the room better than a random mix of colours. This version is listed at 2 inch, but I treated thickness as only one part of the choice; placement and total treated area mattered just as much in my room. The pieces arrived packed securely. I gave the foam time to settle after unpacking instead of judging the shape immediately. Once it had recovered, the cuts and edges looked consistent enough for the installation I had planned. The 1x1 ft format made it easy to build the treatment gradually and leave deliberate gaps instead of covering the wall blindly. That was useful because I wanted the treatment to follow the actual room layout rather than force the room around fixed decorative panels. For installation I tried to keep the process simple. I cleaned the painted wall first, marked the final positions and tested one piece before committing to the complete layout. Self-adhesive tape was convenient for temporary positioning, but I would not assume it will hold equally on every wall finish. For the pieces I wanted to leave permanently, SR Adhesive felt more appropriate. A little preparation made the final alignment much better, and a second person was helpful for the larger pieces. The website was useful because the application was explained in a way that separated acoustic treatment from sound isolation. I also spoke with the MMT team about placement and was advised to start with the strongest reflection areas rather than cover every wall at once. That matched what I heard in the room and helped me avoid buying blindly. Pricing was competitive against other branded acoustic foams I checked. There were cheaper marketplace options, but the clearer product information, predictable finish, packaging and access to installation support made the overall purchase feel better value. After using the room for a few days, the change I notice most is on voice recordings, which need less correction for the room sound. The result improved further when I moved one piece closer to the first reflection point instead of adding more foam at random.
