Door Bottom Seal | Flexible Silicone, Self Adhesive | 39 Inches

Tried this on the work-from-home room; my rough door surface needed more preparation than expected, and I would not use it again on this surface. The product itself looks fine, but it did not suit my particular door.

I bought this flexible silicone door-bottom seal for my study door after noticing that a surprising amount of air, dust and sound was getting through the gap rather than through the solid part of the door. Before ordering I checked the dimensions and read the installation information because I did not want to treat a simple seal as if it were a complete soundproofing system. The product arrived properly packed and the material itself felt consistent when I opened it. In my case, the self-adhesive backing was easy to apply after cleaning the door. After fitting it, reduced dust coming in from below. I also noticed that it helped reduce sound leaking through the bottom gap, which made the room feel better sealed in normal day-to-day use. The biggest lesson for me was that positioning matters: if a bottom or perimeter seal is compressed too much, the door can become harder to move, while too little contact simply leaves another air path. I did run into one small point where the brown finish was more visible than I expected. It was manageable, but it is worth checking the floor, paint or frame condition before sticking or fixing anything permanently. The soft silicone bends rather than staying rigid. That distinction is important because the seal can improve one weak path, but the overall acoustic result still depends on the door leaf, frame, latch side, top edge and any remaining gaps. I also appreciated that the MMT Acoustix website explains the product as a practical sealing component rather than promising a miracle. When I had a fitting question, the support guidance was straightforward and focused on getting the contact pressure right. For the price, I think the value comes from using the correct type of seal for the correct surface. There are cheaper weather strips available, but I preferred a product where the application and acoustic purpose were explained clearly. Overall I would not call this a success for my particular setup, although I can see why it may work better where the surface and gap are more suitable. If I were installing it again, I would first clean the surface, measure the gap at several points, dry-fit the position and only then make the final attachment. That extra five minutes would make the finish neater and reduce the chance of having to reposition the seal later.

Added this to my study door; followed my slightly uneven floor better than a rigid strip, although I fixed it slightly too low at first and it dragged on the floor, so I would measure more carefully next time. I would clean the door properly before sticking it.
