SoundBlanket is engineered to block airborne noise transmission through walls, partitions, and enclosures. It adds mass to lightweight structures, improving sound insulation performance. This is a sound barrier product, not an echo absorption panel.
High Density
Manufactured from high-density mass loaded vinyl, the material provides effective resistance against sound wave penetration. The weight per square meter contributes directly to its blocking capability. Higher mass improves performance in mid and lower frequencies.
Flexible Barrier
Despite its density, the sheet remains flexible and adaptable to different surfaces. It can be installed behind drywall, inside partitions, or within acoustic enclosures. The flexibility allows easier handling compared to rigid barrier boards.
Installation Versatility
Suitable for walls, ceilings, doors, HVAC enclosures, machinery covers, and temporary barriers. It integrates well within gypsum partitions and layered acoustic assemblies. Proper sealing of joints is essential for maximum effectiveness.
Space Efficient
Unlike thick masonry additions, SoundBlanket increases sound insulation without significant wall thickness. It is ideal where space constraints prevent structural expansion. This makes it practical for retrofit acoustic upgrades.
Vibration Control
When combined with decoupling systems, it helps reduce structure-borne sound transfer. It performs best as part of a layered system rather than as a standalone exposed sheet. For heavy vibration issues, additional damping layers may be required.
Moisture Resistant
The vinyl composition resists moisture absorption under normal indoor conditions. It does not rot or degrade like fiber-based materials. Suitable for controlled indoor environments and protected industrial applications.
Layer Integration
Designed to work within multi-layer acoustic assemblies including drywall, plywood, insulation, and resilient channels. It should be sandwiched between solid surfaces for optimal performance. Exposed installation may reduce its acoustic efficiency.
Application Scope
Recommended for home theatres, recording rooms, offices, industrial enclosures, generator rooms, and partition upgrades. It reduces sound transmission but does not eliminate noise entirely. Performance depends on the complete wall or enclosure system.
